Scheduled Maintainance
Scheduled maintenance: Data Centre Migration
Submitted by gavint on Sun, 15/01/2012 - 15:52In conjunction with engineers from Gyron, we will be migrating all hardware at our primary site, Telstra’s London Hosting Centre, to Gyron’s own Centro Data Centre in Hemel Hempstead. All customer services will be affected during this window.
Sending email servers should queue your inbound email for delivery until the migration is complete. No email should be lost.
No IP addresses, hardware, software or DNS names will change during the migration - this is a physical relocation only - so you don’t need to update any configurations.

Submitted by gavint on Sun, 18/09/2011 - 19:39We will be performing scheduled maintenance during this window to upgrade the software on our VPN remote access appliance. Only SSL VPN remote access and secure file transfer services will be affected, and not production web or email traffic.
We apologise for any inconcenience this may cause.

Scheduled maintenance: Backup agent installation
Submitted by gavint on Sat, 30/04/2011 - 22:41We will be restarting our shared and reseller hosting server, cpanel02.lhc.uk.networkeq.net, to install new backup software. This will result in around 2-3 minutes of downtime.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance.
Customers who have our backup service on VPSs and dedicated servers will also require this maintanence in the next month but will be contacted separately.
COMPLETE: Virtual Server Migration
Submitted by gavint on Sun, 06/02/2011 - 03:10We will be migrating all our virtual servers at our primary site to new hardware during this window. We don't anticipate more than 60 minutes
of downtime for each virtual server, but we will post updates and any issues on this page.
This will affect VPS, shared and resller hosting services, as well as our own website and billing and support systems. This page will not be affected as it is hosted at our DR site. Most VPS customers will have a change to their package during this window - thse customers have been emailed individually about this.
Scheduled Maintenance: VPN appliance software update
Submitted by gavint on Thu, 23/12/2010 - 09:54We will be performing an upgrade of the software on our SSL VPN remote access appliance at this time. Customers who use this service will not be able to log in during the upgrade, and may need to update the VPN client components on their computers after the upgrade is complete. Other services will not be affected.
This upgrade should resolve an issue some customers have seen in relation to SSL certificate chain verification.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
XenServer host memory upgrade
Submitted by beno on Thu, 18/11/2010 - 23:48Unfortuantely we are experiencing an issue with the XenServer host that has been upgraded relating to the Flash storage used to boot the host, we are currently working to resolve this.
Most customer machines remain online but the small number of servers that were shut down may experience downtime beyond the two hour maintenance window whilst we resolve the issue.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Scheduled Maintenance: XenServer host memory upgrade
Submitted by beno on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 21:56We will be performing scheduled maintenance to upgrade the memory in one of our XenServer blades to improve the specification. Most customer virtual machines will migrated to other hosts before this upgrade, but a small number of virtual machines will need to be shut down for around half an hour - we will be contacting those customers affected individually.
All other virtual servers will remain online and unaffected, although all services are at risk during this period due to reduced redundancy and live migration required to move virtual machines off the host being upgraded.
Scheduled Maintenance: VPN appliance software update
Submitted by gavint on Mon, 11/10/2010 - 13:28We will be performing scheduled maintenance to upgrade the software on our VPN remote access appliance. Only remote access and secure file transfer services will be affected, and not production web or email traffic.
We apologise for any inconcenience this may cause.
Firewall software upgrade
Submitted by gavint on Wed, 18/08/2010 - 19:09We have scheduled an upgrade of the Junos operating system on our main London firewall cluster. This upgrade is essential to ensure long-term availability and stability of the network. We expect minimal interruption to traffic not lasting more than a few seconds at a time, but the network is at risk for the entire window.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Scheduled maintenance: Firewall software update
Submitted by gavint on Wed, 07/07/2010 - 18:03We have received a custom build of the Junos software that our firewalls run from Juniper which should correct the recent firewall issues we have experienced at our primary site.
We are planning to install this next Wednesday evening, and will aim to keep network disruption to a minimum. The network is at risk for the entire two hour window, but we anticipate the actual disruption will be under 10 seconds.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance.
